Motëm's Return to Montreal

January 16

It's been a minute, yes that is true. But wait no longer, Motëm will be returning to Montreal for what is being labeled as the first ever Skweee gig in Montreal. Also performing will be one of the reigning kings of Montreal's own contemporary beat music, Turbo Crunk, Lunice as well as Commodore 84 and Alex One. What to call this night officially? Don't ask me, Canadian Skweee meets Turbo Crunk? C'est tres possible.

Slow Hand Motëm is one funky individual and Canada’s first man of Skweee. He likes to record albums in his studio/hideaway and show them to the world via the internet... limited vinyl releases and the Motëm live ensemble known as "The Motestra."
The Motëm funk is, to hear it, is to know it. Like soothing comfort basement-tape soul music.
Since 2004, Motëm has independently recorded and released over 30 albums via his own Gebbz Steelo Boutique. He has been featured on the first "International Skweee compilation on the Harmönia Records label from Helsinki as well as the "Skweee Tooth" compilation on Stockholm’s Flogsta Danshall. Motëm has graced stages in New York City, Stockholm, Oslo, Helsinki, Montreal, Toronto and many other cities. And he will only continue to expand.
